Why isn't my link to this article working?

The pages you see in databases are temporary pages generated by your search. Once your search session has ended, if you saved the URL of a page (as you might do with an ordinary web site) it won't work or be accessible later.

Why?

You need a persistent link to get directly back to database content. A persistent link (also known as a permalink, durable link, or stable link) is a URL that connects directly to a specific full-text article or other content in a library database.

Most databases offer an option to get a persistent link to an item; it will differ by database what this option is called and where to find it on the page, but most often it is represented by a chain link icon.
