How do I find books in other languages?

Answer

There are a few different options for finding books in print, electronic, and audio formats in a variety of languages.

To search for print books, use the Find Books search in the library catalog. You can search by title, author, or keyword.

Option 1: Library Catalog

On the results page, scroll down to see the limiter for language. Click on the dropdown arrow to see languages.

Select the language. Review results. You will see results that we may have available from DMACC Libraries and others that you may be able to request through Interlibrary Loan from another library.

Option 2: BRIDGES database

BRIDGES is a database with books in electronic and audio formats, magazines, and some video. There are many language options available.

To find BRIDGES database, click on Find dropdown menu on the library homepage and then click on Audio & Ebooks.

On the next page click on BRIDGES.

To see language options for materials, click on Search and then Advanced.

Choose the language from the Language dropdown and click Search.

On the results page, you can choose the source type and format.

To borrow a book or magazine, you can click BORROW and then log in with your DMACC network username and password. You can also download and use the Libby mobile app with BRIDGES.
