How can I get help citing in MLA style?

Answer

MLA citation style has two main parts:

  • In-text citations that appear in your project wherever you quote, paraphrase, or refer to outside information.
  • Reference entries or a full citation of a source typically at then end of your paper, presentation, or project.

There are also some style considerations for title page, font, spacing, and capitalization.

For help citing common sources you can refer to examples on the library's MLA guide, or use the library's free online citation manager called NoodleTools.

You can also get help from the Writing Lab:

  • in-person at an Academic Achievement Center
  • online through DMACC Online Tutoring
  • over email through DMACC Tutoring through email

Citing sources can be challenging, so don't hesitate to ask for help!
