How do I find streaming videos?

Answer

The library's streaming video collections include feature films, documentaries, educational films, and recorded performances available at no cost for personal or professional use by DMACC students, faculty, and staff.

Search from the Library Homepage

  1. On the library homepage click Find Films.Library homepage with Find Films button highlighted with a green box.
  2. Enter keywords or a film title in the search box and click on the magnifying glass.
  3. On the results page on the left-hand side of the page under Format, select eVideo (streaming format).

  4. When you find a title of interest, click on the View now button. This will take you directly to the streaming database where the video is available.Streaming video result with View now button highlighted with green box.

Browse streaming video databases

  1. On the library homepage click Choose Database.Library homepage with Choose Database button highlighted with a green box.
  2. From the drop-down menus, click on Format / Source Type, select Streaming Videos, and then click Filter.A-Z database page with format source type dropdown menu highlighted with a green box and streaming videos selected.
  3. Select a database to browse. 

At this time, our top collections include:

  • Academic Video Online (AVON) for documentary and feature films, and demonstrations.
  • Feature Films for Education for feature and international films and literary adaptations.
  • Films on Demand for educational and documentary films.
  • Kanopy for documentary, feature, and foreign films.
  • SWANK for feature, documentary, and international films and television series.
